Protective Effect of Natrium Diethyldithiocarbamate Trihydrate (NDDCT) on Lead Induced Neurodegeneration in Rats

Abstract: Aim: Lead is a powerful metal which induced neurotoxicity through the degradation of neurons in body. Various neuronal changes have shown correlation with generation free radicals and oxidative stress. The present study was carried out to evaluate neuroprotective activity Natrium diethyl dithiocarbamate trihydrate (NDDCT) on lead neurodegeneration rat’s model. Methods: We evaluated NDDCT using Morris Water maze, Elevated plus Photoactometer Hebb’s William maze models also different biochemical parameters. Neurodegeneration by administering acetate (1 mg/kg/day) for 35 days. Test drug (5 mg/kg 10 mg/kg) standard donepezil were administered concurrently test treated group. Results: found improve escape latency time (in Maze), transfer reach reward chamber (Hebb William’s Maze) locomotor activity. confirmed evaluation vivo antioxidant estimation other level reduced glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase, sodium nitrate serum lead, TNF-α, nitric oxide, acetylcholinesterase enzyme group when compared disease control Histopathological brain confirms protective effect NDDCT.
